Microwave Chocolate Lava Cake-In-A-Mug

Steps

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug (10-12 oz size), whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients in: Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, and stir until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
  3. Add the Lava Center: Push the chocolate chips or square of chocolate into the center of the batter. Don't mix it in—just let it sit in the middle.
  4. Microwave: Microwave for 50 seconds. Check that the top is slightly gooey and surrounding edges are all set. If not, continue microwaving 10 seconds at a time until they are (should be between 50-70 seconds total, depending on microwave wattage)

Tips

  • Use a large mug to prevent overflowing.
