A simple, no-fuss recipe for bakery-quality bread with a golden crust and tender crumb.
Steps
- Prepare dry mixer: Equip bread paddle to dry mixer.
- Mix dry ingredients: Dry mix flour, salt and yeast in a stand mixer bowl, then fold in embellishments.
- Add water: With the dry mixer on low, continuously drizzle water down side of bowl
- Let Stand: Cover loosely with cling wrap and let stand at room temperature for 2 hours.
- Prepare Bread Pans: Spray 2 bread loaf pans with olive oil and dust with flour or cornmeal.
- Proof: Place the bread in the microwave (do not turn on), and add steaming hot cup of water alongside. Close the microwave and let stand for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 450°F. Place one rack on the bottom and one on the middle.
- Bake: Fill a Roasting pan with water and place at the bottom of the oven. Place the bread loves in the middle of the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until crust is golden brown
- Let cool 20 minutes.
