Ingredients
- 10 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and warm
- 1.25 cup granulated sugar
- 80 g (3/4 cup + 2 tbsp) unsweetened cacao powder or coca powder
- 0.25 tsp kosher salt
- 2 large cold eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.66 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Position oven rack to the middle of the oven.
- Combine the flour, sugar, cacao powder, salt and butter in a medium bowl. Mix well to combine.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring vigorously between each one.
- Add batter to an 8x8 inch pan. Spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a wooden tooth pick in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
