Ingredients
- 5 cup of water
- 1 lemon’s peel (keep white pith intact)
- 2 inch piece of ginger (cut into thin rounds, skin on)
- 1.5 tbsp ground turmeric
- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 crack of black pepper
- 1 lemon’s juice
- 1 tsp coconut oil, butter, or avocado oil
- 1 tbsp honey
Steps
- Bring the water, lemon peel, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, and black pepper to a minimal simmer.
- Maintain a low simmer for 7 minutes. Don’t let bubble or boil, as it can harm the nutrients.
- Take off the heat and squeeze in the lemon juice and stir in the coconut oil and honey.
- Strain the tea into a container or a cup. Tea in a closed container kept in the refrigerator will keep up to 3 days.
